Ford announced that its virtual racing outfit, Team Fordzilla, would be collaborating with gamers to design a new racer called the P1 for the very first time back in March 2020. A concept of the Team Fordzilla P1 racer was revealed a few months later, and the real-life version of that virtual machine made its debut in December of 2020, after which Ford transformed the P1 into a full-scale playable video game simulator. A specially-equipped Ford Transit gaming van followed this past June, and now, shortly after Ford announced a partnership with Tribe Gaming, a professional esports organization based in Austin, Texas, its own virtual gaming outfit is back with the Team Fordzilla P1 Supervan, which will be designed with input from fans.
The Team Fordzilla P1 Supervan – otherwise known as the Supervan Vision Concept – was announced at this year’s Gamescon event in Cologne, Germany, and is taking a very similar path to creation as its predecessor. That means Ford has invited gamers to participate in the Supervan’s creation by voting on certain elements of the vehicle’s design via Twitter. In the first poll, Ford asked fans if the P1 Supervan should be a track weapon or an off-road racer, and 70 percent of voters chose the latter.
The next stage of this process is now live, and Ford is asking fans a number of other important questions about what they think this extreme performance future Transit van should look like. Those questions include what type of wheels the Supervan should roll on, whether or not those wheels should be covered up, how many wheels it should have, and whether fans prefer to drive this imaginary van by themselves or share duties with others.
📣 More than 70% of you voted for the off-road supervan. 👀 Now we need your input to design the TFZ:P1 Supervan!

“We continue to do things differently, being true to the Team Fordzilla DNA and delivering new experiences, like the P1 simulator, and projects like the P1 Supervan to give some excitement back,” said Team Fordzilla’s Emmanuel Lubrani.

Jim Farley is good for Ford. Keep up the good work Jim.
Bring the Econoline back with all the latest tech and safety features. Those vans would go on forever if you’d let them. The Transit vans go through brakes, are built cheaper, and have a big problem with rust.
