As used-vehicle prices soar to new levels and competition in that market intensifies, finding a good deal is becoming increasingly difficult. However, a number of used Blue Oval vehicles represent good values, even in this crazy market, including select Ford Taurus and Ford Edge models, as well as the 2017 Ford C-Max. Now, iSeeCars has uncovered another solid used vehicle buy – the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, which has landed on that organization’s best used vehicles for under $15k list.
As Ford Authority reported last May, the Lincoln MKZ is one of the fastest depreciating vehicles in recent history – with an average five-year depreciation of 67.1 percent – which also happens to make it a true bargain. To come up with these results, iSeeCars analyzed over 12 million vehicle transactions, looking for the models that are the most reliable, have the highest average safety ratings from the National Highway Transit Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and tend to retain their value the best.
In that regard, the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid made the cut as one of the best used vehicles priced under $15,000 with an average selling price of $14,392. The MKZ – which was discontinued following the 2020 model year along with its platform-mate, the Ford Fusion – received high marks for its smooth ride and excellent fuel economy ratings of 42 miles-per-gallon in the city and 39 miles-per-gallon on the highway, and iSeeCars scores of 8.3 for reliability, 7.5 for retained value, and 10 for safety, along with an overall score of 8.6 out of 10.
FoMoCo didn’t bother to update the MKZ very much as it neared the end, particularly in terms of its infotainment system, which lagged behind rivals. However, many appreciated its luxurious interior, comfy and quiet ride, reliability, and safety features. Now, those same shoppers can score a great deal on a used MKZ, too.
We’ll have more on the MKZ soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Lincoln news, Lincoln MKZ news, and ongoing Ford news coverage.
