The 2021 SEMA Show was chock full of custom Ford Mustang builds, as is the case each and every year. One of the standout creations, however, was this 2021 Ford Mustang GT Performance by M2 Motoring, which takes inspiration from the IMSA Mustangs of the 1980s, combining cool, timeless style with improved performance in one tidy package.
M2 Motoring’s 2021 Ford Mustang GT Performance is powered by Ford’s 5.0L Coyote V8, which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The powerplant has been upgraded with a Ford Performance supercharger kit, which bumps horsepower up significantly from 460 in stock form to a whopping 750 raging ponies. M2 also installed a set of Ford Performance half shafts to ensure those parts could handle all that extra power, too.
On the outside, this Mustang certainly looks the part thanks to a Ford Performance PP2 front splitter, a decklid applique, park lamp air curtains, a Bullitt front grille, custom Motorcraft livery, a CDC custom outlaw rear decklid spoiler, and Ford Research and Advanced Engineering concept taillights.
The custom pony car sits a bit lower than stock thanks to Ford Performance lowering springs, and also features a GT350 brake kit and Mach 1 adjustable camber/caster plates. The Mustang rolls on a set of 19×10.5-inch front and 19×11-inch rear GT350 wheels, which are fitted with Ford Performance black lug nuts and wrapped with 305/30 Goodyear tires at all four corners.
Inside the cabin, this 2021 Mustang GT has been treated to a Ford Performance carbon fiber shift knob, Shelby GT500 carbon fiber IP trim panels, custom Recaro RPSP leather seats, and a custom laser-etched armrest.
Put it all together, and M2 Motoring’s Mustang GT is a very interesting, very quick tribute to some pretty iconic racers from the past, and that makes it extra cool in our book.
