A variety of Blue Oval products are already on sale in the Middle East, including the Ford F-150 – which was that region’s best-selling vehicle in 2020 – as well as the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which went on sale there back in September 2020, and the Ford Bronco, which launched last summer. Now, on the heels of its official reveal earlier this week, the Ford Bronco Raptor is the latest Blue Oval model joining the automaker’s Middle East lineup.
Inspired by the Ultra4 and DR racing Broncos, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor also borrows a few parts from both of those hardcore off-roaders. That includes new shock towers to increase suspension travel, heavy-duty bash and skid plates, reinforced B-pillar crossbars and C-pillars, and DR-based axles. New differentials – including a Dana 44TM AdvanTEK front differential with upgraded half-shafts and a Dana 50TM Heavy-Duty AdvanTEK rear diff – increase the Bronco Raptor’s track width by 8.6 inches.
Ford also worked with Fox to add the latter’s active valve technology to the Bronco’s existing High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) system, adding a set of Fox 3.1 Internal Bypass Semi-Active Dampers to the mix, along with beefier tie rods and Ford Performance-developed front and rear control arms. Customers have their choice of two new 17×8.5-inch beadlock-capable wheel designs, which are wrapped in 37×12.50R17LT BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is powered by Ford’s 3.0L EcoBoost V6 – as Ford Authority was the first to report back in 2020 – which is targeted to produce at least 400 horsepower. That fortified powerplant is mated exclusively to FoMoCo’s 10-speed automatic transmission, while the Bronco Raptor sports a much different look on the outside thanks to its “Ford” script grille, wide fender flares, Carbon Black hood, and amber lighting.
While the Bronco Raptor is slated to launch in the U.S. this summer, Ford will only say that the high-performance off-roader is set to launch in the Middle East sometime in 2022, so it’s unclear when, exactly, customers will get their hands on the exciting new model.
We’ll be more on the Bronco Raptor soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
