The Ford Bronco Sport has thus far proven to be a success with both consumers and critics alike. Recently, the rugged off-road-focused crossover earned accolades for its Sync 3 software, and also joined Consumer Reports‘ list of recommended vehicles back in November. Now, the consumer organization has also named the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport one of the best SUVs on the market for under $30,000, giving Ford yet another award to add to its proverbial trophy case.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport made the cut as one of Consumer Reports‘ best SUVs under $30,000 thanks to its solid road test score and excellent predicted reliability and predicted owner satisfaction scores. Consumer Reports praised the crossover’s rugged styling, capable four-wheel drive system, “taut and agile” handling, easy-to-use controls, and abundance of active safety features, including forward-collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB), and blind-spot warning (BSW). CR is also a fan of Ford’s 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 but doesn’t like the 1.5L EcoBoost I-3‘s vibrations at low speeds, nor the Bronco Sport’s firm ride.
With an overall score of 82, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport ranked fourth on this particular list, behind the 2022 Hyundai Tucson (92), 2022 Subaru Forester (90), 2022 Subaru Crosstrek (86), and the 2022 Honda CR-V (86), and tied with the 2022 Mazda CX-5 (82).
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2022 Bronco Sport entered production at the Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant back in November following a couple of supply chain-related delays. The 2022 Bronco Sport will carry over mostly unchanged in just its second year of production. However, as Ford Authority recently reported, Badlands trimmed models now come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel as standard equipment, while the names of three trim packages have been changed. Finally, the rugged crossover also received a price increase across all trims for the new model year.
We’ll have more on the Bronco Sport soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Bronco Sport news and continuous Ford news coverage.
