2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid By DRAGG: Live Photo Gallery

The 2022 Ford Maverick unsurprisingly enjoyed a large presence at the 2021 SEMA Show last month, with numerous custom examples lining the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center. That included this 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid customized by DRAGG, a non-profit after-school youth automotive program that aims to keep students laser-focused on their future careers by providing a glimpse inside the automotive industry.

This 2022 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid is officially dubbed “Beach Watch 758” and as such, is designed to serve as a life-saving vessel for those summer days by the water. Thus, it’s been fitted with a vast array of accessories, including a SnugTop bed cap, Air Design fender flares, a Panda bed liner, Watersport carriers, and a Yakima SUPDawg roof mount, along with a Rigid 20-inch front bumper light bar, A-pillar lights, and bed cap rack post lights.

Other special equipment that helps this compact pickup better do its job includes a Yakima SkyLine roof rack, Federal Signal police lighting package, DSM&T wiring, and a Tri-Country Rhino cap roof rack. The whole truck was covered in a custom wrap by Legacy Auto Design and given a one-inch Rough Country leveling kit, which helps make room for a set of 17-inch Grid GD7 wheels wrapped with 255/60 Toyo Q/T Open Country tires.

The interior also features a laundry list of Ford Accessories parts and accessories including all-weather floor mats, Cover King neosupreme seat covers in the front, a GB40 battery jump starter, Cargo Glide bed slide, police radio system, and various Scosche dash electronic accessories. Ford’s 2.5L Atkinson cycle hybrid I-4 was given a bit of a boost via a custom Borla cat-back exhaust with black chrome tips.

Overall, this Maverick was designed to help steer young folks in the right direction through automobiles, and it certainly has the goods to accomplish that mission.

How about getting a bed shell that fits? Looking at the truck in profile, the, I think, “Snug Cap”, just doesn’t fit. It isn’t balanced, the front sticks up, and that has to negatively affect gas mileage, wind drag!
Right now it looks like a derby hat on Andre the Giant.
