Last year was anything but normal for automotive dealers across the globe, as various supply chain shortages forced automakers to slash production, which led to dwindling inventory while a number of 2021 model year Ford orders had to be pushed to the 2022 model year as a result. FoMoCo launched Ford Blue Advantage as a way to help dealers by boosting certified pre-owned vehicle sales, but 2021 was still undoubtedly a difficult one. Regardless, Bill Brown Ford in Livonia, Michigan – which is located just a short drive from Dearborn and Detroit – still managed to have a banner year as it was named the number one Ford dealer in the world.
It certainly seems fitting that a Ford dealer located within close proximity to FoMoCo’s world headquarters would win such an honor, as last year’s winner (as well as the winner in 2019) – Brandon Ford – is located in Tampa, Florida. Bill Brown Ford was previously named the top Ford dealer in the state of Michigan, but this year it brought this coveted title back to the Detroit region for the first time in quite a few years.
Prior to the last two years, when Brandon Ford held the title of top Blue Oval dealer in the world, Galpin Ford of Los Angeles, California, had won that distinction for a whopping 29 consecutive years. Galpin fell to third place in 2019 as it ceded that honor to Brandon Ford, and after just two years, a new winner has been crowned.
The credentials required to be named the number one Ford dealer in the world are quite simple – it’s all about volume. The dealer that sells the most vehicles in any given year is bestowed with that honor, a simple yet important distinction that has thousands of franchises fighting to sell as many vehicles as possible each year.

Congrats to Bill Brown Ford, but really, how hard is it to sell A-Plan vehicles?
