The Ford Authority Take

Once again, Ford Argentina sales suffered a significant decline during December 2021. The double-digit decline represents Ford’s eighth consecutive decline in monthly sales in the Argentine market, where the brand has been affected by lower vehicle inventory as well as the macroeconomic instability of the South American country.

The primary Ford models in Argentina saw sales drop year-over-year as well as over previous months in the 2021 calendar year. The biggest loss in volume came from the discontinued Ka, which for years was Ford’s most popular model in South America.

Meanwhile, the Ford Ranger suffered a notable decline in December, while managing to maintain healthy growth throughout the year.

Only three low-volume Ford models managed to see their sales grow last month in the Argentine market, including the Kuga, Mondeo and Territory. However, the 252 deliveries of the compact crossover (of Chinese origin) notably lost volume compared to previous months, when it sold an average of 300 units per month.
