The Ford Authority Take

Ford Brazil sales suffered another substantial decline in December 2021, representing the fourth consecutive month when deliveries plummeted above 80 percent. In fact, last month’s negative result represents Ford’s 24th monthly decrease in the Brazilian market, where FoMoCo began transitioning from a local manufacturer to a national sales company (importer) a year ago by closing all of its plants in the country.

In December, almost all of Ford’s (already-reduced) vehicle range saw a year-over-year decrease in sales, including the Ranger, which has recently become Ford’s best-selling vehicle in the Brazilian market.

The Ford Mustang was the only model to see an uptick in sales volume, accumulating three consecutive months of sales gains thanks to the local introduction of the new Mustang Mach 1.
