2022 Ford Bronco Lineup Gains New Removable Hoop Step Option

Entering its second year of production, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco remains a highly desirable product that FoMoCo is having trouble producing enough of amid multiple supply constraints and unprecedented demand. As a result, the automaker will stop taking orders for 2022 Ford Bronco models next month, as Ford Authority reported earlier today. Regardless, those that are able to secure a 2022 Ford Bronco have their choice of a number of new models and features, including these removable hoop steps.

The new removable hoop steps are a $395 option and fit all two- and four-door Bronco models and trims except for the Ford Bronco Raptor. It’s a freestanding option in the Bronco lineup – not a Ford accessory catalog item or dealer-installed option – so it’s unclear if it will be available to current Bronco owners, but the steps are currently available via the 2022 Bronco build and price configurator.

In addition to adding this new item, Ford’s 2022 Bronco configurator has undergone quite a few changes in the last day or so. As Ford Authority reported yesterday, the Bronco Raptor and Bronco Everglades are now available to spec via the configurator, while a new H.O.S.S. 3.0 suspension system option is also available for the Bronco Wildtrak. However, these models and options are not available for just anyone to purchase.

The majority of 2022 Bronco Raptor models will be reserved for unscheduled order holders. However, all Bronco Everglades models and the H.O.S.S. 3.0 suspension system for the Wildtrak will go to those carryover order holders, a bit of a consolation prize for being pushed back from the 2021 model year, or choosing to hold out for new options, models, and colors, while those customers also received price protection for the new model year, sans the Bronco Raptor.
