2023 Ford Ranger Raptor Reveal Set For February 22nd

The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is poised to boost the mid-size pickup’s off-road performance cred to new levels. As Ford Authority exclusively reported, it will feature the Ford 3.0L EcoBoost V6, along with other major parts that it will share with the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, which officially debuted several weeks ago. Now, The Blue Oval has publicly announced when it will pull off the wraps on its closely related sibling.

At this juncture, we know quite a bit about the upcoming 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor, but when it is unveiled on February 22nd, 2022, there could still be some surprises. For starters, it will come bundled with the usual Raptor bits and pieces buyers have come to expect, like a full width “FORD” front grille, as is tradition. It will no doubt get skid plates front and rear, and also have BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, although that could only extend to the North American variant. This upcoming reveal only pertains to the global version of the pickup. That said, sources recently told Ford Authority that the Ranger Raptor would start at just over $52,000 in America, a price that would make it considerably cheaper than its Bronco Raptor sibling and the Ford F-150 Raptor.

While details about the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor haven’t been made official, the automaker did post a teaser shot of the truck’s rear end, which did reveal that it will receive a unique set of tail lights. These new units appear to be eschew the red housings for some clear ones, although it looks like there are some red accents along the edges. All future models will also get a tail gate mounted center high-mounted stop light (CHMSL), as opposed to the previous generation, which had the lamp nestled between the rear window and the roof.

Inside, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will feature some additional kit designed to separate it from regular models. Like other Raptors, that includes color accents around the vents and on the steering wheel, with this particular truck packing Code Orange parts, a likely indicator that the truck will offer the paint when it goes on sale. North Americans are going to have to wait on news about when the next generation model will arrive at showrooms, but we do know production begins May 2023 and will continue for about eight years.

  1. Well, I guess if the CHMSL is on the tailgate we won’t have to worry about leaks in the cab anymore when the seal goes bad.
