The Ford Authority Take

The decrease in Ford Argentina sales in January 2022 deep FoMoCo’s negative performance in the South American country. In fact, the 47 percent drop represents the ninth consecutive monthly sales drop in Ford sales volume in the Argentine auto market. In fact, the general auto market in Argentina suffered a much smaller drop of 4.8 percent during the first month of the year.

The negative performance was led by large declines of two best-selling Ford models in the local market – Ranger and EcoSport. And we can’t not mention the substantial void left by the discontinued Ford Ka.

Although Ford’s midsize pickup truck, manufactured locally in Argentina, accumulates two consecutive months of decreased sales, it is still The Blue Oval’s most popular model.

Ford Territory

Interestingly, five imported Ford models – Mustang, Territory, Transit, Bronco Sport, F-Series – managed to post gains in sales volume on an annual basis despite strict import restrictions imposed by Argentine authorities as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
