The Ford Authority Take

Ford Brazil sales suffered yet another dramatic decline in January, exactly one calendar year after Ford Motor Company announced the closure of its manufacturing plants in the country. The negative performance represents Ford’s 25th monthly drop in the Brazilian market, where it has been posting declines of over 80 percent since last September.

As such, all of the models that Ford currently offers in Brazil saw lower sales volumes in January, including the Ford Ranger. The midsize pickup truck became the brand’s best-selling nameplate in the country over the past year. For its part, the Bronco Sport maintains a limited volume below the Territory, a small crossover utility vehicle imported from China.
