Ford Mustang Mach-E Is A Women’s World Car Of The Year Finalist

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has racked up a host of awards over the year plus it’s been on sale now, winning over a wide variety of critics with its many appealing qualities. The same goes for those that own the EV crossover, as the vast majority not only say they would buy a Ford Mustang Mach-E again if given the chance, but are also happy to recommend it to others, which is the best kind of free advertising.  Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Mach-E is a finalist for yet another award – this time, the Women’s World Car of the Year Award (WWCOTY).

The Mach-E earned a spot as a finalist for the 2022 WWCOTY award by beating out its competition in the large car category to take home first place in that regard. Now, it will compete with six other vehicles for the ultimate prize. The winner will be announced on March 8th – which is fittingly International Women’s Day – once all of the votes are tallied.

In the first round of voting, a total of 65 vehicles were judged over the course of 2021, each being evaluated in a number of areas including safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, environmental impact, and value for the money. Now, the judge’s panel – which is the only automotive awards group that consists entirely of women journalists – will carry on the tradition started by New Zealand-based journalist Sandy Myhre, who created WWCOTY back in 2009.

If the Mach-E winds up taking home the ultimate prize in this year’s WWCOTY awards, it will add yet another trophy to the EV crossover’s growing case that already includes such distinctions as a 2021 Wards 10 Best UX award, a spot on Consumer Reportsrecommended cars list, European Car of the Year and World Car of the Year finalist selections, a Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award, and a second-place finish in J.D. Power’s 2022 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study.
