The 2022 Lincoln Corsair carried over mostly unchanged for the new model year, save for the Reserve dropping its standard Revel Audio System, while pricing for that trim also declined for 2022 as a result of that change. Meanwhile, the compact luxury crossover segment remains red hot, and Ford Authority spies have now spotted another upcoming Corsair rival driving around – the 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale.
The 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale joins a segment that’s so hot it’s growing in spite of the chip shortage, and its arrival marks the brand’s entry into this space. The Tonale was originally revealed as a concept back in 2019, and the production version figures to retain much of its styling. This prototype is covered in heavy camo, however, making it difficult to discern the finer details of the crossover’s design.
Regardless, the Tonale will slot below the Stelvio in Alfa’s lineup, both in terms of size and price. It’s expected to be powered by a 1.3-liter gas engine, paired with an electric motor that powers the rear wheels for an eAWD setup with a combined output of 240 horsepower. This system is similar to the one already utilized on the Jeep Renegade, with which the Tonale is expected to also share a platform, as both brands are owned by Stellantis.
Little else is known about the Tonale at this point, including pricing and a potential launch date, though it was originally slated to arrive for the 2021 model year.

Regardless, the Tonale will be joining a heated segment when it does launch, one that is currently led by the Lexus NX, which is all-new for the 2022 model year. The Corsair currently sits in the middle of this crowded pack in terms of sales, though the luxury crossover is due to receive a mid-cycle refresh in 2023 that will include the addition of several new tech features, a larger touchscreen with SYNC 4 for the center stack, and a new hybrid powertrain option.

It is being officially revealed on Feb 8th. Should be interesting, and much better and better looking then the Corsair.
Right, it may be styled in a nice italian way but the warmed-over platform of the Renegade is actually from the POS Fiat 500 that earned all the worst quality accolades / no one bought in this country. LOL, Talk about badge engineering. Fix it again Tony with cheap plastic everywhere. It’ll be interesting to see how much widow dressing Stellentis will stick on it to call it an Alfa.
Ford, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, et all have nothing to worry about.
I thought the Stelvio versed the Corsair.
Isn”t the upcoming Dodge Hornet based off this?
The Tonale is based off of the European Jeep Compass/Renegade, not the Fiat 500.
It’s an American Fiat 500. You were just fact checked.
This Alfa is a joke, Stellantis is investing in a dead brand… Alfa is only popular in Italy and can’t face German car brands. Mind you, in Europe even the Blue Oval became a small player! Audi, Skoda and even Kia are getting bigger as Ford.
Really? Tonale? Who’s handling the marketing? Cutex?
