The refreshed 2022 Ford Expedition was revealed back in September, after which the full-size SUV – and its Ford T3 Platform mate, the 2022 Lincoln Navigator – entered production at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in January. Now, the 2022 Ford Expedition has also launched in Mexico in two trims and three different versions – Limited and Limited Max in two-wheel drive, and Platinum Max in four-wheel drive, joining the recently-launched Ford E-Transit in that country.
In Mexico, the 2022 Ford Expedition is available in a total of seven colors – Magnet Gray, Juniper Green, Obsidian Black, Metallic White, Infinite Blue, Cobalt Blue, and Silver (for Limited trim only). Limited 4×2 models will start out at $1,474,500 MXN ($73,965 USD), while the Limited Max 4×2 features an MSRP of $1,544,500 MXN ($77,477 USD), and the Platinum Max 4×4 starts out at $1,725,500 MXN ($86,556 USD).
Otherwise, the Mexican version of the 2022 Expedition is identical to the refreshed SUV that has already launched in the U.S. That means it features a few exterior styling tweaks including new standard LED headlights, taillights, and wheel choices, a standard 12-inch infotainment screen running SYNC 4, or an optional 15.5-inch display – the largest in its class – with SYNC 4A, as well as an available 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster. The U.S. also gets the off-road-oriented Expedition Timberline and street-focused Stealth Edition Performance Package.
Meanwhile, the 2022 Expedition has faced a fair share of production constraints in recent months, prompting Ford to delay its rear-seat entertainment system, multi-contour seats, the Timberline’s underbody transmission shield, and add auto stop/start removal as an option. Securing a discount on the refreshed SUV has also proven to be exceptionally difficult as well, which isn’t a surprise given its limited availability due to these supply constraints.
