The 2022 Ford Expedition has earned its fair share of accolades in recent months, including Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy/Best Full-Size SUV Award, as well as getting the nod over the Nissan Armada as Consumer Reports‘ preferred full-size SUV. Now, after the 2021 Ford Expedition was named one of KBB’s Best Family Cars of 2021, the refreshed 2022 Ford Expedition has repeated that feat by landing on the organization’s Best Family Cars of 2022 list.
To determine its Best Family Cars List, KBB takes a look at the latest two- and three-row SUVs, full-size SUVs, and minivans on the market focusing on safety, practicality, value, connectivity, technology, and driver-assist features. This year, the 2022 Ford Expedition took home its Best Full-Size SUV for Families Award, “combining maximum versatility with unexpected comfort and convenience,” according to KBB.
“A family car is more than just a mode of transportation,” said Jason Allan, director of editorial for Kelley Blue Book. “Parents want a vehicle they can trust to protect their family in the case of an accident, comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology to help avoid accidents altogether, and matches the needs of their lifestyle. Combining our expansive vehicle review program, proprietary insights, and industry data, we work to provide families with vehicle recommendations that align with their personalized needs and emphasize value through Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price and 5-Year Cost to Own information.”
The 2022 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator entered production at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant back in September, but both models have faced numerous chip shortage-related cuts over that time span, leading to low inventory and non-existent lease deals. The chip shortage has also led to a number of features being delayed for the refreshed SUV, including the Timberline’s underbody transmission shield, the rear-seat entertainment system, and auto stop/start, while a universal garage door opener is now standard.

Why bother when Ford is unable to honor existing orders ? Why wait on an order only to be told by Ford what they CAN’T PROVIDE on your order ? POINTLESS.
