In recent years, it’s become sort of a tradition for automakers to auction off the first of a new, special vehicle or a one-off version of a new model for charity. This has included the first production 2021 Ford Bronco, the Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition, the first 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 ever produced, and the first 2022 Ford Shelby GT500KR. Now, the very first production 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor will follow those special vehicles when it crosses the block at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction on April 9th, 2022.
As is usually the case, Barrett-Jackson will waive all fees and commissions associated with the sale of the first 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, which will allow every dollar raised to go to two different charities – the National Forest Foundation, which aims to promote the health and public enjoyment of our national forests, and Outward Bound, which helps to prepare students of all ages and circumstances with the strength of character and determination they need to thrive in life.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor – which was revealed back in January – features a number of upgrades over Sasquatch Package-equipped Broncos, including the presence of Ford’s 3.0L EcoBoost V6, which is targeted to produce over 400 horsepower in this application, as well as numerous suspension upgrades.
A direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, the Bronco Raptor also shares a few things in common with the Ford F-150 Raptor, though shoppers will have a hard time finding a deal on one – or finding one at all, since the majority of Bronco Raptors are set to go to carryover 2021 Bronco reservation holders. Regardless, the rugged off-road SUV will start out just shy of $70k, as Ford Authority previously reported.
We’ll have more on the Bronco very soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and 24/7 Ford news coverage.
