Ford Super Duty Replacement Winch Rope Now Available

The more off-road-focused version of the Ford Super Duty – the Super Duty Tremor – was revealed back in June of 2019 for the 2020 model year, giving buyers a convenient way to purchase a more capable version of the popular pickup. Aside from standard features like suspension upgrades and beefier tires, the Ford Super Duty Tremor also offers an optional Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn that is available as a factory-orderable option or a dealer-installed after-purchase accessory, which also recently became available for all Ford 7.3L Godzilla V8 or 6.7L Power Stroke V8 diesel-powered 2020 or newer 4×4-equipped F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups with available dual batteries and dual 397-amp alternators.

Now, Ford is selling a replacement winch rope via its ever-growing catalog, too. That offering – listed under part number M-1821-TWR – consists of a 70-foot-long Spydura synthetic winch rope, which is designed to work perfectly with the optional Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn. The rope retails for $475 and figures to be a popular option for those that use their winch a lot, whether that be for off-road recovery when owners get stuck or are on the scene to help others get out of hairy predicaments.

As for the winch itself, that component is capable of pulling up to 12,000 pounds with ease, is mounted behind the steel bumper, and is designed to optimize airflow and clearance regardless of engine choice. The winch features high-tensile strength and an abrasion-resistant synthetic cable that is ideal for helping stranded motorists or as an indispensable tool on the job site. The winch includes the only wireless remote control in its class, along with a wired remote control.

The Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn – listed under part number M-1821-SD – is available as a $3,000 factory option, or it can be added after purchase at a local Ford dealership for $3,000 MSRP plus labor.
