Ford has been in a slump in Brazil for some time now, and those woes continued in March as the automaker’s sales there plunged a whopping 70 percent, year-over-year. However, FoMoCo is working to reinvent its business in the South American country, launching a new Quick Lane service center and a bevy of new products there, including the 2022 Ford Maverick. The compact pickup was an instant hit in Brazil, as the first batch sold out in less than 24 hours, though more are on the way. Now, the easily customizable and DIY-focused 2022 Ford Maverick is also getting a new line of accessories from Nomad Sports, too.
Nomad Sports specializes in making and selling clothing and accessories for cyclists, so it makes for a natural fit with the new Maverick, a pickup that has thus far proven to be quite appealing to young and active customers. As FoMoCo points out, the Maverick is a solid choice for cyclists and those that simply like to get outdoors and go on all sorts of adventures thanks to its built-in utility and space for friends, too.
Ford and Nomad Sports haven’t yet revealed what sort of accessories will be available for the 2022 Maverick in Brazil, but did preview a padded mat for the tailgate, which provides a place to carry a bike without scratching it up – a popular accessory among cyclists and truck owners in the U.S., too.
Aside from the bevy of accessories available for the Maverick already, the truck also comes with new and innovative Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS), which are essentially slots or receivers designed for matching mounts to slide into and hold accessories. Many of these accessories are sold via Ford’s catalog, but a QR code sticker located in the bed of the compact pickup also gives owners access to the slot geometry used by FITS, which allows them to 3D print any kind of accessory they can dream up.
We’ll have more on the Maverick soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

I finally saw a Maverick yesterday at the dealership when I went to get my Expedition serviced. Rarely am I excited to see a vehicle, but I was excited to finally look in the Maverick. It looks great and I can see why demand is so high. I would like to suggest to Ford that they create a full slide rear window in the Maverick and have a mid-gate (like the Chevy EV pickup) that folds INTO the cab. I think this little truck would benefit greatly from that additional feature and give people more cargo options. For instance, in the photo, you could slide you entire cycle into the vehicle without the hangover. With a fold-down mid-gate and the tailgate down, you might actually get a full 8 feet. Worth a thought.
I would like to order a 2023 Maverick but none of the local dealers are not interested in talking to me . Do you some other way I could order a new Maverick. I live in Arlington Washington been to every dealer with no luck . Can you help me with a new Maverick order?
2023 orders will start mid august.
When mid-august comes it’s worth a trip down to Awesome Ford in Chehalis Washington
We have purchased 2 Ford from them in the past. I don’t know any one person that works there and I don’t get anything for referrals but I assure you you will find out why they are called Awesome
Accessories … how about a 100% water proof hard tonneau cover. Those who ordered the cover so far reports leaks around the tail gate.
Ford needs NEW marketing strategists and needs to produce (and or sell) their vehicles, and at least have a viable plan to know the market, in different countries. It’s not logical, and how can it be their overall sales are down in Brazil 70%, (per pre-ordering process) Maverick sold out in 24 hours?
Looking for running boards for a 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid.
