2022 Lincoln Aviator Recalled Over Head Restraint Detachment Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Lincoln Aviator models over a head restraint detachment issue.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the front-row driver and passenger seat power head restraint cushion may detach from the head restraint assembly when adjusted to the full forward position.

The hazards: a detached head restraint cushion can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: power head restraint cushion.

Affected vehicles: select 2022 Lincoln Aviator models produced at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant between June 24th, 2021, through February 16th, 2022.

Number of vehicles affected: 933

The fix: dealers will replace the front-row passenger and driver head restraints, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on May 9th, 2022. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22S23.
