2023 Kia Telluride X Models Debut As New Ford Explorer Timberline Rivals

The all-new 2022 Ford Explorer Timberline was revealed nearly one year ago ahead of its launch in October, adding some additional off-road capability to The Blue Oval’s long-running crossover. However, it isn’t alone in that red hot segment, and was most recently joined by the new Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek. Now, a pair of new 2023 Kia Telluride X models are joining that fray as well, adding two different levels of additional off-road capability to the recently revealed and refreshed crossover – the X-Line and X-Pro.

The new X-Line replaces the outgoing Telluride Nightfall Edition and adds a host of exterior updates including a unique radiator grille design, bridge-type roof rails, body-color door handles, exclusive 20-inch wheels, and X-Line badging. On the inside, the X-Line features embossing on front seat upper backrest and exclusive color packages, though there are also some functional upgrades present, too. Those include an additional 10mm of ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, tow mode, and an upgraded Traction Control System (TCS).

Meanwhile, the other 2023 Kia Telluride X model – the X-Pro – comes equipped with most of those same features, plus additional upgrades in the form of unique 18-inch black wheels wrapped with Continental all-terrain tires, X-Pro badging, X-Pro embossing on the front seat upper backrest, a 110-volt inverter outlet located in the cargo area, and a max towing capacity of 5,500 pounds, versus 5,000 pounds for regular models.

Additionally, the 2023 Kia Telluride X models feature the same enhancements present on the regular Telluride, including some exterior styling revisions, a refreshed interior with larger screens, and the addition of new tech features. The 2023 Kia Telluride goes on sale this fall, though no pricing information has been released as of yet.
