The Ford Authority Take

The February performance represents the lowest monthly Ford Brazil sales result in recent decades as sales volume fell below the 1,000 units mark. In addition, this negative performance represents the 26th consecutive monthly decline in Ford Brazil sales.

The substantial drop in Ford Brazil sales during February 2022 is primarily due to difficulties experienced by FoMoCo in producing and managing inventory of the Ford Ranger, The Blue Oval’s best-selling nameplate in Brazil during the past 12 months. The midsize pickup, manufactured in Argentina, lost the momentum it has built up in previous months, registering a significant drop of 41 percent.

However, the 34 deliveries of the all-new Ford Maverick in Brazil stand out amid all the negative figures for Ford models during February. Ford’s new compact pickup had made its first deliveries in Brazil in November 2021, and reservations for the model quickly sold out in that country.
