Back in December, Ford Authority reported on a 2022 Ford Maverick that had received a monochrome paint treatment in the form of a color-matched front grille bar, hood scoop, front bumper, fender trim, and rear bumper. The matching parts gave that yellow pickup a sportier look than its regular counterpart, as well as a design aesthetic that many find to be superior to the truck’s factory appearance. Now, another monochromatic 2022 Ford Maverick has emerged from the Maverick Truck Club forums, and it only helps the previous example further its case for a special trim level or performance variant of the new model.
This particular Maverick is finished in Velocity Blue, and its owner, Kyle, went to the trouble of spraying the truck’s front bumper, grill bar, side skirts, and rear bumper the same color. Additionally, Kyle added a set of black headlight housings from Bullseye Customs, giving his Maverick a truly unique and sporty look. Future plans call for adding even more sportiness to this pickup via a set of coilovers, tinted windows, and 20-inch wheels.
The results quite simply speak for themselves, and Kyle’s treatment would look great on a future performance variant of the popular compact pickup. Such a vehicle seems to be in the works after the automaker refused to rule out a Maverick ST or off-road-focused variant last August, while Ford Authority spies have spotted a pair of unique prototypes in recent months – one that could be an ST or Rattler version of the Maverick, and another sporting a dual-tip exhaust and large intercoolers just last week.
A monochrome paint treatment would certainly look good on a performance variant of the new model, as Ford Authority previously previewed via renderings depicting what a potential Maverick ST and Maverick Tremor might look like.

I normally do not buy an even numbered car Year but I like the Maverick truck
What month does the new trucks come out ,and what differences will there be ?
August is when 2023 orders are expected to open.
No word, yet, on any changes. I’d expect to see a couple of high trim additions, based on recent spy photos, possibly an off-road variant, as well as a street-performance version.
I ordered my Maverick in Oct.2021, haven’t seen it yet, my salesman in Ontario Canada says I might be pushed to 2023! Yet Ford Authority says only vehicles ordered in January 2022 will be pushed forward to 2023.
Who can I believe? Can someone give me the truth.
I doubt it . I ordered mine in July. Haven’t heard nothing . Ford dropped the ball big time.
I came across a problem with the Maverick back up camera. It’s only useful with the tailgate closed. Why did’nt they put it where the license plate is located. When backing up with the tailgate open, or half open, when you need it the most it’s useless.
It would ruin its use for backing up to a trailer if it were offset and mounted low. It would ruin its use in a lot of situations, but that’s the first one that came to my mind. (Even if your Maverick doesn’t come with a towing package, most do or can be equipped that way, so they are designed with that in mind.)
I believe all trucks have them mounted in the tailgate. It’s really the best compromise on a truck. Mounting on the roof is too high to see the trailer hitch (and leaves a huge blind spot otherwise), and can easily be blocked by cargo or a canopy. Mounting on the bumper is too low, and in this case, it would be required to be offset, otherwise it would take the place of the trailer tow package, and it would throw perspective from inside the vehicle way off.
It ain’t truly monochromatic with those black and silver wheels.
Do you know of any remedy for alarm going off on 2020 F150 XLT CREW CAB?
Anytime a chopper with straight pipes or often High Performance car or truck with ‘modified exhaust” goes by my house in LAKE HAVASU. CITY AZ. Selling dealer Bradley Ford is puzzled. Indicates no adjustment is possible. Does not happen to my adult son’s new 2021 Expedition XLT. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Is there a special primer for the plastic when painting the monochromatic on bumpers, etc. I really like the look
