2022 Ford Bronco Raptor Horsepower And Torque Ratings Revealed

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor was officially revealed back in January, confirming Ford Authority‘s exclusive report from 2020 that the high-performance off-roader would be powered by the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine. However, Ford didn’t reveal how much power that particular powerplant would be making in this application, though it generates 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque in the Ford Explorer ST and Lincoln Aviator. Now, however, the official 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor power figures have finally been unveiled, courtesy of FoMoCo CEO Jim Farley on Twitter.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor will feature a higher output than the other Blue Oval products that employ the automaker’s 3.0L V6 EcoBoost powerplant – 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, to be exact. That also places the Bronco Raptor a bit closer to its main rival – the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, which comes equipped with Stellantis’ naturally-aspirated 6.4L Hemi V8 and makes an even 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

As Ford Authority reported yesterday, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor won’t offer much in the way of efficiency, however, as the EPA estimates that it will return 15 miles-per-gallon in the city, 16 on the highway, and 15 combined – the worst numbers of any Bronco model currently in Ford’s lineup. However, the new Bronco Raptor does at least sound the part, as we can hear in a video posted by Ford Authority earlier today. Ford’s 3.0L V6 EcoBoost has a deeper, burlier tone than its stablemates, befitting of a high-performance model bearing the Raptor name.

  1. Any idea why the same engine in the Ranger Raptor is only 392hp?

    1. Lighter, weaker chassis probably.

  2. The speculated numbers for the Ranger Raptor were extrapolated from the figures released for the Australian version. Official power ratings for the North American Ranger Raptor have not yet been revealed, just like the actual truck itself. Here’s hoping it gets the same ratings as the Bronco Raptor although I won’t be too surprised if it doesn’t. Different size tires, probably different tow ratings, etc. could affect the Ranger’s final numbers.
