2022 Ford Bronco Sport Gains New Bronze Smoke Color: First Look

The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport adds three new colors to its lineup: Velocity Blue, Hot Pepper Red, and Bronze Smoke. Here’s our first look at the new Bronze Smoke color option.

Assigned order code EF, Bronze Smoke is one of 11 available colors for the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport, which include:

  • Shadow Black
  • Iconic Silver Metallic
  • Area 51
  • Alto Blue Metallic
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Oxford White
  • Velocity Blue Metallic (new for 2022)
  • Hot Pepper Red Metallic (new for 2022)
  • Bronze Smoke Metallic (new for 2022)

The new color is a no-cost option, and is available with all trim levels except for base. In addition, the new hue can be paired with all the interior color environments.

2022 Ford Bronco Sport Trim Levels:

  • Base
  • Big Bend
  • Outer Banks
  • Badlands

2022 Ford Bronco Sport Interior Color Combinations:

  • Ebony
  • Medium Dark Slate
  • Ebony/Roast
  • Navy Pier
  • Ebony/Active Orange
  • Ebony/Area 51

Currently, the 2022 Bronco Sport is available at the retail level, as the Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant has been producing the crossover since November 2021. However, ongoing constrains within the supply chain have moderately disrupted output, so interested buyers should contact their local dealers for additional details regarding pricing and availability of the crossover in the new Bronze Smoke color.

The 2022 Bronco Sport represents the second model year of the rugged crossover utility, which originally launched in late 2020 as a 2021 model year vehicle. Ford Authority has extensively covered the changes to the Bronco Sport for the 2022 model year, which include renaming packages on three trim levels due to a change in the availability of the moonroof throughout the lineup as well as the addition of a leather wrapped steering wheel as standard on the Badlands trim.

We expect the Bronco Sport to continue on in its current form through the 2023 model year, with a refresh expected for the 2024 MY, at which point a new hybrid variant could join the lineup.

It’s worth noting that the Bronco Sport saw a healthy increase in sales volume during Q1 2022 to nearly 30K units. We expect The Blue Oval’s rugged crossover to continue seeing growth in sales volume as long as FoMoCo is able to match production with high demand.

This looks the same as my Kodiak Brown color on my 2021 Bronco Sport, except there is brown on the roof instead of black.

Would look even better on the regular Bronco.
