2022 Ford F-150 Gains New Atlas Blue Metallic Color: First Look

The all-new, 2022 Ford F-150 adds just one new color to its roster: Atlas Blue Metallic. Here’s our first look at the blue color option.

Assigned order code B3, Guard is one of 13 available hues for the 2022 Ford F-150, which include:

  • Agate Black Metallic
  • Antimatter Blue Metallic
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Iconic Silver Metallic
  • Oxford White
  • Race Red
  • Rapid Red Metallic
  • Smoked Quartz Metallic
  • Space White Metallic
  • Stone Gray Metallic
  • Star White Metallic
  • Code Orange Metallic
  • Atlas Blue Metallic (new for 2022)

The blue hue is a no-cost option, but its availability is limited as the color can only be paired with select trim levels including Lariat as part of the Black Appearance Package and Sport Appearance Package, Tremor or Raptor.

Ford F-150 Trim Levels:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • King Ranch
  • Platinum
  • Limited
  • Tremor
  • Raptor

The 2022 Ford F-150 has been produced at the Ford Dearborn Truck plant and Ford Kansas City Assembly plant since winter 2021, but supply of the pickup truck is limited due to ongoing constraints – including but not limited to the well publicized microchip shortage – within the supply chain.

Buyers interested in FoMoCo’s full-size pickup should consult with their local dealers in regard to placing an order for models clad in the new Atlas Blue color.

Ford Authority has extensively reported on the changes to the 2022 Ford F-150, including the addition of four new packages – STX Black Appearance Package, XLT Black Appearance Package, Platinum Black Appearance Package, and Lariat Black Appearance Package.

It is worth noting that the paradigm-busting F-150 Lightning arrived at dealerships in the U.S. earlier this spring as the first-ever full-size electric pickup from a traditional American automaker. The model racked up an impressive number of reservations before its launch. Ford Authority recently drove the new model, calling it the best F-150 ever.

Kind of a poorly timed article about a new color for the F150 22MY when orders for MY22 were cut off on 5/13/22. Plus, rather than add new colors, Ford should concentrate on getting customers the trucks in colors already ordered! My truck has been “in-production” since 1/27/22 and was ordered on 10/26/21. These situations are what you should be writing about.

      couldn’t agree more, Howman

Neighbor already picked up his FORD F150 hybrid in Atlas Blue quite a while ago… Someone is sleeping on the job.

Wish they didn’t get rid of Velocity Blue for this color. Outside of direct sunlight, Atlas Blue is way too dark for my personal tastes. The F150 color palate is really boring these days. I hope they offer a brighter blue on the new Ranger next year, but given Fords recent obsession with Atlas Blue on all their vehicles now, I’m doubtful.

I have Lightening Blue Metallic clearcoat on my 2018 supercrew Fx4.
I’ve gotten more compliments on this color than any other I’ve owned
in 50 years. And have you noticed.. black vs. black metallic is a huge
