Back in February, Ford Authority reported that 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R order banks are set to open later this year. Now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R order banks will open up immediately after the future model’s debut, which has been the case with a number of other Blue Oval products in recent history.
This news comes on the heels of multiple 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R leaks in recent weeks, including including a build sheet, a photo of the truck’s new powerplant, and a window sticker, all confirming what Ford Authority was the first to report nearly three years ago – that V8 power is coming back to the F-150 Raptor. In this case, that powerplant is the supercharged Ford 5.2L V8 Predator engine.
Several months ago, Ford Authority spies spotted a 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R prototype out driving around for the first time, also capturing its throaty exhaust note shortly thereafter. Ford was later caught benchmarking the Ram TRX against the higher-performance pickup, too. However, just last week, those same spies spotted an F-150 Raptor R prototype wearing no camo for the very first time, giving us a good look at the new model in the flesh.
The forthcoming 2023 F-150 Raptor R looks much like the regular model, albeit with a few minor differences including an “R” beneath the pickup’s “Ford” script front grille, as well as unique 17-inch forged aluminum wheels. The biggest difference lies under the hood, however, while the Raptor R will reportedly will sound a bit different than the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which also comes equipped with The Blue Oval’s Predator powerplant.
We’ll have more on the 2023 F-150 Raptor R soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, Ford F-150 Raptor news, and non-stop Ford news coverage.

Ford better take non refundable deposits when the order banks open, because when these trucks are finally built next year, not many will be able to still afford them and the gas to operate them in whatever is left of our economy.
Even at a time of record high gas prices and an economy stumbling out of control, I’m still glad that Ford and Stellantis are making utterly ridiculous vehicles like supercharged V8 trucks and full size SUVs with 33 inch tires.
As a side note, there are a few differences between this and the regular Raptor that people seem to be missing. The grille, fenders, and back tailgate are glossy black rather than matte. The wheels are different. It’s noticeably taller at the rear. There are the obvious ones, like the visibly gigantic trailing arms and the covered up R badge, but those ones are also fairly small.
Like to see pictures of it
The markup on the raptor is just out of control! Dealerships are adding 30-50,000 over MSRP if you can even find them!
I mean for 130,000 I’m just gonna look at an exotic car instead of a Ford pickup truck.
Gm has nothing at all to compete but the trx can be had quite a bit cheaper. I am a Ford guy but that is just too much!
If Ford really wants to stop dealer markup it can either produce more of the vehicles people want to buy…. or stop making such appealing cars and trucks.
It’s really just a supply and demand issue. Prices always rise when the supply goes down or the demand goes up.
The suspension seems beefier in the rear. I saw one in the wild and took a bunch of pictures but Ford Authority never got back to me after I tipped them that I had pics. The pictures are of the blue raptor r seen driving in the video
If they get stupid on the price I’ll just order a Shelby.
I have a 22 model and will be ordering a 23 as soon as available.
