Ford Mustang Black Accent Package Naming Campaign Ends Today

Last week, FoMoCo teased and then revealed that it was working on a Ford Mustang Black Accent Package – essentially the polar opposite of the existing Ice White Appearance Package – and that it wants us to give that new package a unique name. Rather than coming up with something itself, Ford asked fans to head over to a dedicated web site and submit their own suggestions, and once that process is over, the automaker will choose the best of the bunch to be glorified forever in the halls of pony car history. For those interested in taking a stab at naming the Ford Mustang Black Accent Package, it’s worth noting that today is the last day to do so.

Anyone that wants to submit their own idea for the new, mysterious Ford Mustang Black Accent Package can do so by heading over here, typing it in, and providing their name and other pertinent contact information in case their idea is selected. This sort of method for naming vehicles has become increasingly popular recently, as Ford previously invited fans of the brand to help shape some other future products including a Ford Puma ST special edition model that wound up becoming the ST Gold Edition following customer input.

“In the past, we’ve called it like it was – the Mustang Black Accent Package,” the automaker said. “But we think this signature package needs a signature name to match. So we’re turning to a place known for good ideas and opinions – the internet. We want to hear your name ideas for the Mustang Black Accent Package. Oh, and by the way, we will not be including any offensive or inappropriate names, so please keep them family friendly. Or else we’ll tell your mom.”

For now, it isn’t entirely clear what this Mustang Black Accent Package will look like, as Ford only says that it will include black pony badges and black-painted aluminum wheels. However, we imagine that once the automaker lands on a name for the package, a full reveal won’t be far behind.

We’ll have more on this new appearance package soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
