The Ford Authority Take

After registering two consecutive months of increases during April and May, Ford Argentina sales suffered a notable decrease in June. FoMoCo Argentina saw lower registrations once again as a result of local production difficulties caused by persistent semiconductor shortages.

The drop in June was marked by the significant volume decline of the domestically-built Ford Ranger, which saw its sales volume cut in half year-over-year. Unfortunately, Ford’s midsize pickup truck has been unable to capitalize on its commercial advantage as a domestic vehicle due to low unit inventory.

Despite the overall drop, four nameplates managed to post gains in sales volume on a year-over-year basis, including the Ford EcoSport, Mustang, Territory and Transit. The most outstanding result is that of the EcoSport, which saw a drastic three-digit increase, making it The Blue Oval’s second best-selling model in Argentina.
