When the Ford Bronco Sport debuted for the 2021 model year, Badlands models came equipped with a rear view camera washer that wasn’t available on any other trims. However, as Ford Authority reported last year, Big Bend and Outer Banks models produced after May 10th, 2021 also gained this particular feature. For the 2022 model year, the rear view camera washer was standard equipment on the Big Bend and up, but now, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport has ditched the rear view camera washer altogether.
The rear view camera washer – a feature that’s useful for those that live in the snow belt and off-roaders that routinely get their vehicles muddy – has been dropped from all 2023 Ford Bronco Sport trim levels this time around, meaning that it isn’t available on the rugged crossover whatsoever.
This deletion joins a host of other changes for the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport, including the launch of the new retro-inspired Heritage and Heritage Limited models. Both feature a host of Oxford White accents including a front grille with Race Red “Bronco” lettering, unique wheels, bodyside stripes, and a variety of interior accents, though Ford will only produce 1,966 units of the Heritage Limited in 2023 to commemorate the Bronco’s first year of production.
Additionally, the 2023 Bronco Sport will add two new graphics packages – as Ford Authority reported earlier this month, one of which will adorn the also-new Black Diamond Off-Road Package. Outer Banks models will now come equipped with a standard memory driver’s seat and side view mirrors, which were previously unavailable on the 2022 Bronco Sport. The Bronco Sport Badlands is also gaining these same two features as part of the optional Premium Package, while all trims have added a mandatory 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot removal option.

Ditching the rear camera washer on the Bronco? Ford is making mistake after mistake. That is an important feature on an SUV as the rear constantly gets dirty. I have it on my Explorer and use it frequently. In fact not only has Ford not updated the 2023 Explorer they deleted many important features. Therefore I will not be buying another Explorer when my lease ends this year.
Go to China. Their Explorer is getting a nice refresh. Guess who Ford thinks their more important customer base is.
That means I will be holding off on buying my Bronco Sport until what I consider necessary features are added back. Come on Ford. I REALLY want a BS but things like this are a deal breaker. Here’s hoping the ’24 models are better.
I agree the rear washer is kinda like a safety feature. It seems they keep taking things away instead of adding things that could be of much use
