2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Won’t Have Financing Deals For Options Plan

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is facing a few changes for its second model year, most notably, a massive price increase across all trims, as well as the addition of new features, a bit more range for standard range models, and the introduction of one new model. Finding any sort of deal on the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will prove elusive, however, which was also the case with the 2022 model, save for its eligibility for 84-month financing. Now, a recent dealer bulletin seen by Cars Direct reveals that the EV pickup is being excluded from promotional financing incentives when coupled with Ford’s Options Plan, too.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford Options Plan – a hybrid, lease-like balloon financing deal – was available on the 2022 F-150 Lightning, and will continue to be available for the 2023 model year. However, customers that choose to purchase their pickup using this option will only only be eligible for standard financing rates. This was also the case with the 2022 model, though it’s worth noting customers who obtain a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will still be eligible for the current $7,500 federal tax credit, which isn’t available to lessees.

For the new model year, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is gaining a police-focused SSV variant and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, which automatically controls steering, throttle, and brake inputs to make hitching trailers easier, while models equipped with the standard range battery are getting a range boost from 230 to 240 miles. However, the EV pickup won’t be launching with Ford’s new Android-based infotainment system or AM radio, as Ford Authority reported earlier today.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will be anywhere from $6,000-$8,500 more expensive than the 2022 model, though the Ford F-150 Lightning Customer Satisfaction Private Offer has been launched to protect 2022 reservation and order holders against those price increases when they convert their order, which will happen in waves starting today, as Ford Authority reported earlier this week. Order banks are also opening up today, while production of the 2023 F-150 Lightning is scheduled to begin on October 10th, 2022.
