As Ford Authority reported yesterday, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is set to receive a host of changes for the new model year, including some pretty substantial price increases across the board. However, one change in particular flew under the radar a bit, even though it’s a pretty big one, and it pertains to the black-painted roof present on GT models. As The Blue Oval recently revealed, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is ditching that particular part in favor of the panoramic fixed-glass roof.
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition now come with the large glass roof as standard equipment, which marks an important change for the EV crossover’s lineup. For the 2022 model year, the Select and GT were the only models that came with the “full” roof, while the California Route 1 and Premium were equipped with the panoramic roof as standard equipment.
In addition this change, 2023 Mustang Mach-E Premium models equipped with the extended range battery are getting a range boost of 13 miles, which gives that model an EPA-estimated 290 miles of range. Additionally, Ford Co-Pilot360 is now standard across the entire lineup. On Select models, Ford BlueCruise and the 360-degree camera are available for a complimentary 90-day trial period, too.
In terms of exterior color changes, the 2023 Mach-E is gaining both Carbonized Gray Metallic and Vapor Blue Metallic, which will replace Dark Matter Gray Metallic and Iced Blue Silver Metallic in that lineup. The California Route 1 – which was previously available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations – is now only available with all-wheel drive.
As Ford Authority reported last week, the all-new Nite Pony Package will be available on both the extended-range Premium and GT Performance Edition and adds high-gloss black 19-inch wheels and a black pony front grille emblem for the Premium, as well as high-gloss black 20-inch wheels and a black GT badge for the GT Performance Edition. Both Mach-E Nite Pony Package models get black front and rear lower fascias, black front and rear door cladding, black mirror caps, and black wheel center caps with bright pony graphics. Customers can pair the package with any exterior color available in the Mach-E lineup, too.
Additionally, the 2023 Mustang Mach-E will be getting a lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery in place of its existing lithium-ion unit at some point in the model year, as Ford Authority reported earlier this month. While pricing has increased for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E, customers with existing, unscheduled 2022 model year orders will receive a private offer to convert to the 2023 model year. Order banks are scheduled to open up Tuesday, August 30th.
We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
