The Ford Maverick has proven to be a versatile vehicle thanks to its many nifty DIY-friendly features, including FITS slots where owners can utilize pre-made or 3D printed accessories, while the pickup’s aftermarket has also expanded significantly in recent months. Back in July, a patent filing suggested that future Ford pickups may also be getting a new type of cargo management system, and now, the Ford Maverick Active Cargo System has officially debuted with some pretty cool storage features of its own.
Designed and sold by Leitner Designs, the new Ford Maverick Active Cargo System (ACS) by ACS Forged is a modular truck bed rack system that helps to vastly expand the compact pickup’s cargo capacity. It features a sliding rear load bar that allows owners to fit taller items in their truck – such as plywood – without removing the rack. The system is also expandable, as Leitner is constantly adding new accessories to its catalog.
The rack is made from forged aluminum with two-inch square load bars and utilizes custom grade 10.9 fasteners, bolts treated with Loctite, and is finished in a black Zi-Ni coating. The entire rack weighs 85 pounds, is 23 inches tall when measured from the top of the bed rack, and features a 400-pound off-road dynamic weight capacity, 800 pounds of on-road dynamic weight capacity, and 1,400 pounds of parked static weight capacity.
The rack also features a rubber wind diffuser/load pad to keep cargo from shifting, a quad-rail load beam design for a wide variety of mounting options, and dual-stage powder coated steel brackets. The ACS Forged accommodates many accessories from Thule, Rhino-Rack, and Yakima, and is compatible with the Decked storage system. Customers can also add what Leitner calls GearPODs to the ACS Forged system, which are locking, waterproof, dust-resistant storage that are designed to seamless integrate into the truck’s bodywork, giving them a more OEM look while also reducing wind noise.

The only problem it does not solve is getting a truck delivered.
Or worse yet dealerships selling them to friends for msrp. Then buying it back with 2000 miles for msrp and reselling them for 20,000 over msrp because it is used.
