Thanks to its redesign, the 2021 Ford F-150 is considered an all-new product representing the 14th-generation of the popular pickup truck. Delivering a complete overhaul by way of redesign and re-engineering which includes all-new body panels, a new interior, and a host of innovative new technology features, America’s best-selling pickup truck continues to impress well into 2022. Ford Authority had a chance to get up close and personal with the vehicle – allowing its impressive lighting features to light up the night.
Up front, The Blue Oval logo is clearly visible, set into the Chrome single-bar style grille with satin-chrome surround and chrome accents. On either side, Ford’s signature c-clamp headlights are visible, complete with LED projectors and dynamic bending. These also showcase the Daytime Running Light (DRL) settings, however, all the lights have a variety of mode settings, enabling drivers to customize the light visuals at will. Looking below the grille, the Ford F-150 Platinum also includes LED fog lamps with LED cornering lamps, as well as two front tow hooks and a body-colored bumper.
Along the side, the F-150 features unique zone lighting with LED box lighting capabilities as well as LED mirror-mounted spotlights. The mirror skull caps are capped in a metallic chrome, which is also incorporated into the nameplate in front and below the door as well as on the door handles. The Platinum model also includes power deployable running boards with a chrome highlight.
Moving to the rear, the Ford F-150 Platinum showcases a satin aluminum tailgate applique along with LED tail lights that follow the same ‘c’ design elements as the aforementioned headlights. In addition to the tail lights, the truck includes a chrome with body-color tailgate bezel setup for the rear tailgate. The Platinum model also includes a unique truck bed cargo lamp that incorporates a Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) for enhanced night visuals as well as four cargo box tie-down hooks within the bed.
