2023 Ford Expedition Timberline Drops Optional Deep Cypress Interior

The Ford Expedition Timberline broke into The Blue Oval’s lineup for the 2022 model year, bringing a more capable off-road variant to the full-size SUV. It remains mostly unchanged for the 2023 model year, but now features standard one-pedal drive to enable low-speed crawling and stopping with one pedal. Another minor change has struck the 2023 Ford Expedition Timberline, as Ford Authority has learned that it will drop the optional Deep Cypress interior colorway.

Sources familiar with the matter told Ford Authority that buyers of the 2023 Ford Expedition Timberline will no longer have the option to outfit the SUV with the Deep Cyprus interior colorway, which was included as part of the optional High Package (501A) equipment group for the 2022 model year. Instead of Deep Cyprus, customers who opt for the High Package will now receive a Black Onyx cabin environment with Black Onyx seating.

Despite its exclusion from the High Package, Deep Cyprus is not going away completely, however. It is still included with the Standard Package (500A) equipment group. This interior colorway features a Black Onyx/Deep Cypress cabin environment with Dark Cypress seating.

As a reminder, the 2023 Ford Expedition Timberline also offers an array of off-road-ready features, including 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler A/T tires, a wider track, 10.6 inches of ground clearance, improved approach and departure angles, Trail Turn Assist, and underbody shielding. Under the hood, it harnesses the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost powerplant, capable of 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.

The Timberline moniker was first introduced for the Ford Explorer Timberline, and is reserved exclusively for The Blue Oval’s off-road focused SUVs and crossovers. The Timberline package has taken the place of the FX4 off-road package, which was discontinued for the 2022 model year.

Typical Ford- pick any color as long as it is black.
Worst color there is for heat and showing dirt.

Gee! How original. Yet still another further different black interior, but with a fancy name. Some Haahvahd MBA was paid a fortune to think up that one.
