A proper bargain, the 2022 Ford Maverick debuted with a super-low sub-$20k starting price that made it incredibly appealing, but as one might imagine, the base model XL trim doesn’t come with a lot of frills. In fact, one of the more interesting omissions was cruise control, a feature that most everyone has simply become accustomed to having in every new vehicle, regardless of cost. Some DIY’ers discovered that installing and enabling cruise control in these trucks wasn’t terrible difficult, at least. However, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that the 2023 Ford Maverick XL will come standard with cruise control.
For the 2022 model year, the Maverick wasn’t just lacking cruise control as standard equipment – it couldn’t be ordered with that feature at all. That effective forced buyers who wanted cruise control to step up to the XLT, but now, the feature will come as standard equipment on the entire Maverick lineup.
Along with this addition to the 2023 Ford Maverick XL, the compact pickup will receive a few additional updates for its second model year. Most notably, that includes the new Tremor Off-Road Package, which builds upon the existing FX4 Off-Road Package by adding a unique all-wheel drive system that utilizes a twin-clutch rear-drive unit with a differential lock feature, specially-tuned springs and shocks, upgraded half shafts, a heavy-duty transmission cooler, steel skid plates, unique dark gray anodized 17-inch aluminum wheels, standard all-terrain tires, and various Tremor Orange accents accents inside and out. Additionally, the 2023 Maverick is gaining a new Black Appearance Package, too.
2023 Ford Maverick order banks opened up yesterday following a bit of a delay, which caused the compact pickup to be dropped from FoMoCo’s rate lock incentive plan. Production of the compact pickup was also pushed back several weeks as a result, and is currently scheduled to begin at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico on November 14th, 2022.
We’ll have more on the Maverick very soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Maverick news and 24/7 Ford news coverage.

👍 Good move. This should pretty much be standard on any vehicle.
I just received my 2022 maverick and I find that my driver foot slipping off the gas peddle. Is there a remedy?
This may be a red neck solution, but if the pedal material is slippery, how about roughing it up a bit with some course sandpaper or a rasp.
It depends on what you mean by “my driver foot slipping off the gas peddle” Is the pedal slippery? OR maybe you need to see a podiatrist (I’m serious) you may have the start of neuropathy in your rt foot
In that case, get the xl and just change the wheels with a 2″ lift
Will a dealer still order a 2023 Maverick with constraint items for a customer. I’ve contacted 2 dealers and no response.
What is the base price of a 2023 maverick XL hybrid???
Thanks

I was really glad to finally get my 2022 Maverick, but I do feel as though We Maverick buyers were discriminated against because we received no special financing or incentives of any kind. The Maverick maybe the new Edsel, but that’s okay with me. Also, it sure didn’t take long to break the $30K price with the upgrade’s.
Just you see here now!
worth noting that while Cruise Control is now standard on XL, the Moonroof is no longer available on XL at all!
with easy workarounds for Cruise Control, Ford probably figures the Moonroof will drive more people to upgrade to XLT than Cruise Control did. smart product planners.
