A number of Blue Oval products have faced tremendous demand over the past several months, prompting the automaker to close order banks early or only open them for select customers and/or dealers. That includes the 2023 Ford Bronco, as order banks for the SUV aren’t open to new customers, while the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro with the extended-range battery was cut off for fleet orders in August and 2023 Ford Maverick order banks are set to close after only being open for around a week. Now, the 2023 Ford Transit is set to join that group, as sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that order banks are set to close early, too.
More specifically, 2023 Ford Transit order banks will close this Thursday, September 22nd, and there aren’t any stipulations to that date, either. In fact, unlike the Maverick, the 2023 Transit will not be available for dealer stock orders, as order banks will close for both retail customers and dealers alike.
The 2023 Ford Transit carried over mostly unchanged from the prior model year, though the popular van has been treated to a few minor updates. Those include the addition of a new virtual rearview mirror option, which is available on Cargo Van, Crew Van, and Passenger Van models, while the entire lineup is ditching Blue Jeans from its list of available exterior colors.
Additionally, 2023 Transit Passenger Van XLT has replaced its standard halogen headlights with HID headlamps, making it the only trim level and configuration that will have the HID headlamps included as standard. Otherwise, no additional changes are expected for the 2023 Ford Transit lineup, as that long-running model continues to dominate the full-size van segment in the U.S. by a large margin.
