Ford Performance has long offered performance calibrations for a variety of Blue Oval models, including the Ford Explorer ST, which was just added to the catalog yesterday, and the Ford Ranger, which received a similar offering over two years ago. Last November, Ford Authority reported that the Ford Bronco would soon be getting its own performance calibration for both the Ford 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost and Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, and now, that’s precisely what has happened.
First up, we have the Ford Bronco calibration for models equipped with the 2.3L EcoBoost, which is listed in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-9603-B23. This particular addition takes that engine’s output up from 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque to 330 horsepower and 385 pound-feet – gains of 30 horsepower and 60 pound-feet, respectively. This upgrade also gives owners the ability to effectively upgrade to 4.70 gears and 37×12.5R17 tires, according to the automaker.
Next up, we have the Ford Bronco calibration for models equipped with the 2.7L EcoBoost powerplant, which is sold under part number M-9603-B27Â and raises that engine’s output from a stock 330 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque to 355 horsepower and 433 pound-feet of torque – gains of 25 horsepower and 18 pound-feet, respectively. This particular upgrade gives owners the ability to more effectively run 35-inch tires and 4.70 gears, if their Bronco isn’t already equipped with the Sasquatch Package.
Both of these calibrations retail for $825 and come with the required ProCal 4 delivery tool for installation. Each has been engineered and dyno tested by Ford Performance, requires premium fuel, optimizes the transmission’s shift schedule and throttle response throughout RPM range, comes with a year, 36k-mile warranty when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician, and is 50-state CARB legal for 2021 models, though 2022 Broncos aren’t currently approved for use with these calibrations in California.
We’ll have more parts and accessories to share son, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Bronco news and continuous Ford news coverage.
