Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center To Host U.S. Treasury Secretary

The Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is a fairly new complex where the automaker builds the Ford F-150 Lightning, its first-ever all-electric version of the perennially best-selling pickup. Back in May 2021, President Joe Biden was able to take an F-150 Lightning prototype for a spin in an impromptu event that garnered quite a few headlines, but he won’t be the only member of the current administration to visit the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, it seems, as U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will visit the plant tomorrow to deliver a speech on Biden’s economic agenda, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Aside from that, Yellen will also tour the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center before delivering the latest news on the Biden administration’s plan to grow the economy and invest in domestic semiconductor production and new technologies such as all-electric vehicles. Ford said in a statement that it was “looking forward to hosting Treasury Secretary Yellen at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn for an up-close look at the state-of-the-art facility where Ford is leading the EV revolution and assembling America’s best-selling electric truck, the F-150 Lightning.”

Ford has lobbied the current administration in a big way over the past several months on a variety of issues, including asking it to speed up the mining permit process as it aims to secure the raw materials needed to produce more EV batteries and eliminate the old federal tax credit cap for EVs. As a result, a number of Ford EVs and PHEVs are eligible for the newly revised Clean Energy Credit.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration plans to spend $3.1 billion on domestic EV battery production, set standards for public charging stations, and establish minimum EV charging standards to make that process as easy and reliable as filling up an ICE vehicle with gas.

Wow. Now Ford is begging for our hard earned tax dollars to support their flawed EV push. We won’t give it to them.

you forget that those who get their palms greased are the one’s who’ll approve the subsidy not us, those who vote themselves a raise and to completely forgive their gov loans while the working masses get their taxes raised and tax exemptions removed. the saying ” fox guarding the hen house” doesn’t really seem accurate it more like a grizzly bear guarding the hen house at least a fox can only eat a hen or two the grizzly eats them all and is still hungry.

we’re always hearing how taxed the electrical grid is, how it’s near collapse and getting older and worse day by day, now there’s a big push to convert to EV’s, does this sound like a good idea, how is the current administration addressing this issue, by sticking their heads in the sand, yea don’t worry about until it does collapse, great idea.
