Over the past couple of weeks, The Blue Oval has teased the all-new, next-generation S650 2024 Ford Mustang on multiple occasions, treating us to the glorious sound of the pony car’s V8 engine, the GT’s badge and trunk with some special luggage inside, its start/stop button, an interactive wake-up call, and a possible sound clip of the new Mustang GT3 racer. All of this has led up to tonight’s big moment – the official reveal of the 2024 Ford Mustang, which will happen on Woodward Avenue at a special event dubbed “The Stampede,” where fans can even participate in a costume contest celebrating the pony car’s long and illustrious history.
That event kicks off at 8pm Eastern, but those that aren’t able to attend it in person can still catch all the action – including the big reveal of the all-new Mustang – right here, via the video embedded below. Then, we’ll finally see the next-generation pony car in the flesh, though we already know quite a few things about it.
For starters, while the 2024 Ford Mustang will look a bit different than the current S550 model, it will feature fresh styling to differentiate it while also maintaining its retro pony car aesthetic. The interior is a different matter altogether, however, as Ford Authority spies recently captured the redesigned cabin on film, showing off a new digital instrument cluster, infotainment screen, flat-bottom steering wheel, and possibly Google’s new Android-based operating system.
In terms of powertrains, the S650 will continue forward with the familiar turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost and naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8 Coyote engines, with around 500 horsepower for at least one V8 variant, and no hybrid, though an electrified pony car is seemingly inevitable. A manual gearbox will also still be available, meaning that the Mustang will live on for at least one more generation in the familiar form that fans have come to know and love. So be sure and come back tonight and catch all the action right here!

Enjoyed finally seeing the new version of the 2024 Mustang, but the big unveiling was to me a jumbled up second rate commercial. There was that quiet non-responsive crowd of an audience, many staring at their mobile phones or seemingly bored, and a presenter that had all the presence of a down on his luck extra for tv shows. All the hype and a showing that was pretty darn poor. I have seen better presentations introducing high school plays.
