The 2023 Ford Super Duty made its debut not too long ago, bringing all sorts of new and useful features to the F-Series line. This includes the handy Pro Power OnBoard feature, a brand new 6.8L V8 engine, and a wealth of cutting-edge trailering technologies. Now, Ford Authority has spied a 2023 Ford F-600 XL chassis cab for the first time.
As a reminder, the 2023 Ford F-600 is a medium-duty truck that can handle a maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 22,000 pounds. It “hits the sweet spot between the Ford F-550 and F-650,” according to the automaker, and offers handy driver assist technology and higher-weight-rated tires to easily handle a full load. Under the hood, the 2023 Ford F-600 will almost certainly features a choice of two engine options, with three engine choices being a distinct possibility. The first is the Ford 6.8L V8 engine, which is all-new for the next-generation Super Duty. The Ford 7.3L Godzilla V8 gasoline engine and the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Scorpion V8 turbodiesel engine will likely make a return to the F-600 as well. All of the aforementioned engine options mate to the automaker’s 10-speed automatic TorqShift transmission, accommodating up to 300 pound-feet of torque with the available live drive takeoff.
The new Super Duty pickups, including the Ford F-600, utilize the automaker’s Fully Networked Vehicle (FNV) electrical architecture, which provides greater cybersecurity and protection from being hacked. On the flip side, however, FNV is difficult for tuners to take advantage of, thanks to its advanced security measures.
Additionally, the new Super Duty line features a frame that was strengthened in key areas in order to provide best-in-class towing, along with a fully redesigned cab for ultimate comfort and convenience. It also sports a new integrated tailgate step to make accessing the bed a bit easier without the need for an unsightly add-on jutting from beneath the pickup’s rear end.
We’ll have more on the 2023 Super Duty soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford Super Duty news, and continuous Ford news coverage.

I like your newsletter and read it religiously, but your writers are not paying close attention. For example there is no tailgate on a Cab & Chassis F Series, engine options are likely to include 6.7 HO, 6.7 Standard, and gas 7.3. The 6.8 gas is probably not powerful enough to support F600 GVWR and payload, but it could be a low cost entry for municipalities and government bids. Also, are you referring to the 2023 F Series Pickup (not Cab & Chassis) box frame reinforcement for increased towing, or the specific c-channel Cab & Chassis frame reinforcement introduced in 2022 as a recall, due to frame cracking on the earlier Cab & Chassis models? How about model specific and more accurate information as well as fresh and new info, not just a blind repeat of all of the other Superduty press releases. I would like to know if the F600 will be available in Club Cab or Crew Cab configurations in 2023 or the future.
