Ford Bronco Sport Recalled Over Parking Lamp Flickering Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022-2023 Ford Bronco Sport models over a parking lamp flickering issue.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. In turn, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, which refers to “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

The hazards: flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: LED Driver module

Affected vehicles: select 2022 and 2023 Ford Bronco Sport models produced between March 19th, 2022, and July 28th, 2022.

Number of vehicles affected: 8,246

The fix: dealers will replace or reprogram the LED Driver module at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin October 31st, 2022. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22C22.

  1. That “flickering” is Ford’s reputation, with all these recall issues. Whatever happened to quality being “job one”.
