The all-new Ford E-Tourneo Custom was revealed just yesterday as the latest addition to The Blue Oval’s quickly growing EV van lineup, joining the best-selling E-Transit and E-Transit Custom in that regard. The new E-Tourneo Custom has plenty of cool gear to offer buyers, as well as some more luxurious features, but it has one pretty nifty party trick up its sleeve that’s worth taking a closer look at, too – its steering wheel, which is able to fold flat and double as a table of sorts.
As we can see in this video posted to Instagram by Ford North America Product Communications director Mike Levine, the Ford E-Tourneo Custom comes equipped with a steering wheel that folds upward and can accommodate a flat surface that transforms it into a tray table of sorts, which can be handy for eating on the go, or perhaps even placing a laptop there and working remotely. The rim of the wheel rotates independently from the hub, which is what allows it to lie flat.
From there, the bottom tab of the steering wheel lifts up, which helps secure a tray in place. The steering wheel can be placed in all sorts of different angles, which makes it useful for a variety of things, and its squared circle shape is more accommodating for those types of extra curricular activities, too.

This cool steering wheel party trick is just one of many innovative features present in the new E-Tourneo Custom, which utilizes a 74 kWh battery with the same cell technology as the Ford F-150 Lightning, powering a 160 kW electric motor to delivery up to 370 kilometers (230 miles) of range. The new van is set to be built at the Ford Otosan Assembly plant in Turkey alongside diesel and PHEV variants, with deliveries beginning in mid-2023 for European customers.

If I had to have a van, this one actually looks good, gimmicks aside.
Good looking.
Nicely fills hole left by S-Max.
The question is….if and when will it come to the USA?
I hope it will. I have a 2022 Transit Connect and am sad to see it discontinued. That would be a nice alternative.
