For years now, the Ford Explorer ST has given us a high-performance version of the venerable, long-running crossover, something that hot rodders with families can certainly appreciate. After all, why should we be forced to give up the joy of driving when we have kids? In that vein, the Ford Explorer ST offers up impressive performance courtesy of its twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine – 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, right out of the box. However, for those looking to set their ST apart from the pack, Vossen wheels are a great way to do exactly that, as we can see from this example.
This particular Ford Explorer ST is equipped with Voseen’s Hybrid Forged HF-5 wheels, which are finished in gloss black. For those seeking a different look, a variety of other finishes are available, including matte gunmetal, satin silver, anthracite, satin black, and satin bronze. This particular wheel design can be had in sizes ranging from 19 inches up to 24 inches, with pricing starting out at $599. The HF-5 is derived from its forged counterpart, the S21-01, and features pocketed spokes, an aggressive Y-pattern, and is available in a number of personalized fitments and bolt patterns.
The Explorer ST is certainly a fitting vehicle for an aggressive-looking wheel such as this, though those interested in adding even more performance to their high-po crossover can do so in a number of ways. Ford Performance offers a special calibration for the ST that adds a total of 30 horsepower and 52 pound-feet of torque, giving the sporty crossover a total of 430 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque, with gains of 25-35 pound-feet between 2,000-4,000 RPM. There’s also at least one example of the Explorer ST out there cranking out over 700 horsepower.
As Ford Authority reported last month, the Explorer ST will be sticking around when the refreshed version of the long-running model debuts for the 2024 model year as well, which is good news for performance enthusiasts.

Great looking wheels….but…..outrageously expensive
Great policy from Ford……offer some neat wheels in a variety of finishes. I would never buy a vehicle with gloss black wheels, but sure would go for these in lighter (and hopefully NOT glossy) shades of silver or gray or bronze. Wish other manufacturers would do this.
These are luxury aftermarket wheels being offered by a third party…for $599 each. Not Ford. Great looking wheels and long warranty.
My stock, black rims on my ’22 Timberline look nearly as good,
especially with the wider tires. I’m happy with what I have. But nice..
