Since its launch, Ford Pro has quickly expanded its catalog of connected vehicle services and other offerings including upgraded security locks, mobile vehicle service, fleet management software, tracking technology, and telematics subscriptions that make managing large fleets much simpler. FoMoCo’s commercial entity also rolled out a new lending unit dubbed Ford Pro FinSimple recently, and now, it’s expanding into yet another new field – auto insurance – with the launch of Ford Pro Insure.
“Ford Pro customers have come to expect a complete set of products and services that ensure their fleets are the most efficient and productive business tools they can be,” said Jim Drotman, Ford Pro FinSimple executive vice president overseeing commercial financing and insurance. “Insuring their vehicles through Ford Pro Insure will be an important part of that seamless experience that helps many business customers lower their total cost of fleet ownership.”
As The Blue Oval aims to offer fleet customers a one-stop shop for vehicles, software, charging, service, and financing, Ford Pro Insure is the next step on that journey. Ford is teaming up with Pie Insurance – which will provide distribution, underwriting, servicing, and claims – to offer a product that will cover commercial vehicles purchased through Ford Pro and other channels through Ford Credit’s rated insurance subsidiary and is expected to begin rolling out in the first half of 2023. More details will be provided closer to launch.
“We are focused on developing capabilities in key areas that are important to commercial customers. Insurance is critical for business,” Drotman said. “We believe leveraging Pie’s experience in commercial insurance technology in delivering Ford Pro Insure will help us bring a seamless financing and insurance option to businesses quickly, all under one roof.”

I guess when you don’t have trucks to sell, why not insurance? Dumb idea destined to fail …
