Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2017-2018 Ford Super Duty pickups due to an issue with the driveshaft.
The defect: in affected vehicles, a radial damper inside the driveshaft may move out of position over time, which can cause a driveshaft imbalance and result in a fracture.
The hazards: a fractured driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power. Additionally, a vehicle rollaway could occur while parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Either of these scenarios increases the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.

Affected vehicles: select 2017-2018 Ford Super Duty pickups produced between October 21st, 2015, and January 30th, 2018.
Number of vehicles affected: 18,808.
The fix: dealers will replace the driveshaft, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will be begin on January 9th, 2023. The Ford reference number for this recall is 22S74.
