2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Wins KBB Best Buy Award

Kelley Blue Book just released its 2023 Best Buy Awards list, and thus far, the news is good for The Blue Oval, which has secured wins for the Ford Maverick in the compact pickup segment, the Ford Expedition in the full-size SUV category, and the Ford F-150 in the full-size truck space. Now, those vehicles have been joined by the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning, which has been awarded a Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award for Best Electric Truck.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning currently competes against just a couple of other EV pickups – the Rivian R1T and GMC Hummer EV – but this win is still an important one in a segment that’s set to grow exponentially in the coming years. “The Ford F-150 Lightning, the all-electric version of the perennially best-selling Ford F-Series, is a great buy for its reasonable pricing, impressive range, and advanced tech features,” KBB notes. “As for its capabilities, the F-150 Lightning has some impressive specs for an EV. It can tow up to 10,000 pounds and it has a maximum payload rating of 2,000 pounds.”

This year, Kelley Blue Book tested over 300 new vehicle models available in the U.S. to come up with the winners of the 2023 Best Buy Awards, which spans 19 different categories. Now in its ninth year, the company’s comprehensive awards program highlights the top model in vehicle segments most relevant to new-car shoppers, with new categories added this year to reflect growing electrified vehicle segments.

The Best Buy Awards are determined based on a year-long regimen of expert vehicle evaluation, plus an intensive period of final testing. The company’s reviews, ratings, and awards are driven by the analysis of a broad array of vehicle-related data, including vehicle pricing, five-year cost to own data, consumer reviews and ratings, and vehicle sales information.
