2023 Lincoln Aviator: Here’s What’s New And Different

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator represents the third model year of the second-generation Aviator, bringing minor changes and updates ahead of the 2024 model year refresh. Here’s everything that’s new and different for the 2023 Aviator.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Model Line

The 2023 Lincoln Aviator does not see any changes to the model line or trim level structure, carrying over the five available trim levels from prior model years. Standard remains the base trim level, followed by Reserve and range-topping Black Label. Called Grand Touring, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Aviator is available in Grand Touring and Black Label Grand Touring trims.

Other than that, the exterior of the vehicle remains unchanged.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Interior

Inside, the 2023 Aviator sees minor changes, starting with the deletion of 12-way Comfort driver and front passenger seats in the Aviator Standard. The driver’s side now supports 10-way adjustability, while the front passenger now offers eight-way adjustability.

Additionally, customers may opt to forego the vehicle’s head-up display (HUD). This feature is optional on the Aviator Reserve and Grand Touring trims, but standard on Black Label models. This removal option exists in the event that Lincoln cannot supply the appropriate materials to include the feature on the luxury crossover due to ongoing supply chain difficulties.

2023 Lincoln Aviator Mechanical

The Aviator’s powertrain lineup remains the same for the 2023 model year, offering a choice of two powertrains.

The first is the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, good for 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with Ford’s ten-speed automatic transmission. This engine is standard on Standard, Reserve, and Black Label trims. On Standard and Reserve trims, rear-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional. On the range-topping Black Label trim, all-wheel-drive is standard.

The Aviator Grand Touring, meanwhile, features the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 engine mated to a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) system. The PHEV is rated at a combined system output of 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. For this application, Ford’s ten-speed automatic transmission is paired exclusively to an all-wheel-drive system. This powertrain is only available on Grand Touring and Black Label Grand Touring trims.

Informant screen on 2022 aviator at 10inches is sad surely a 12 inch screen for China should have been also available in the USA.

I don’t understand why the new Aviator does not have Sync4 or the larger navigation screen. Lesser priced older models have both!
