Ford Transit Connect Lineup Wins 2023 Best CPO Value Award

The Ford Transit Connect has proven to be a popular option for commercial fleets in recent years, providing plenty of cargo and passenger space in a smaller package than its larger Transit brethren. The Ford Transit Connect also represents a solid value as a certified pre-owned vehicle, as both the passenger van (wagon) and cargo van (commercial) variants of that model were awarded a Vincentric 2022 Best CPO Award earlier this year. Now, as Ford Blue Advantage – the company’s newish certified pre-owned platform – continues to outpace CPO sales in general, the Ford Transit Connect lineup has once again earned a Vincentric Best CPO Value award, this time for 2023.

The Ford Transit Connect took home top honors in the small commercial passenger van and small commercial cargo van segments, earning praise in each for low ownerships costs. The Transit Connect passenger van came in at 2.3 percent below its expected ownership costs, touting the lowest maintenance cost in its class, the lowest insurance cost, best fuel economy, lowest operating costs, and lowest cost of ownership, overall.

As for the Transit Connect cargo van, it was 2.2 percent below its expected ownership costs while recording the lowest operating costs in its class, the best fuel economy, and lowest maintenance costs. These wins marked the sixth and third, respectively, for each model.

To determine the 2023 Best CPO Value in America Award winners, Vincentric conducted a statistical analysis to reveal which had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. The company analyzed over 17,000 vehicle configurations using eight cost factors – depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. The costs were measured after incorporating the specific CPO warranty offered by the manufacturer while also applying mileage requirements necessary to be authorized as an OEM CPO vehicle. Each CPO vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus Washington DC, with the assumption that each would be driven 15,000 miles annually over five years.

“For the past decade, the Vincentric Best CPO Value in America Awards have been helping consumers who are in the market for a CPO vehicle make informed, insightful decisions,” said David Wurster, Vincentric President. “Choosing a CPO vehicle can be a great way to reduce automotive cost of ownership, and choosing a Vincentric Best CPO Value in America Award winner can help give buyers confidence that their choice will deliver great value for their money.”

  2. I have a 2021 Transit Connect Titanium passenger van. I love it! Very versatile, well made. After a year and a half and 16,000 miles, I have no complaints at all.

  3. Updates on whatever FORD is doing to improve the quality of their products. I read last week that in 2022 FORD had 67 Recalls or one every 5.4 days affecting 8.63 MILLION vehicles. This should be the #1 prority across the board. Remember the Days of Quality is Job 1. Quality wasn’t so hot them and certainly isn’t now. The future of FORD IMHO is dependent on them getting their Stuff together. I was a Ford Lincoln dealer in a family operated dealership in GA going back to the 1930’s. Ford also had another advertising slogan that would be pretty cool now and it was “There’s a FORD in your future. That was in the 1940’s – 1950’s.
